Still a hint of blue in the mid crimson. Pretty heavily marked by wood rather than charm, with the fruit a little dried out on the end. Too extracted? (JR)

Nose quite evolved. Tannins very northern-Nuits – elegant but always there. Nicely judged acidity. But this is not a good bottle; it’s showing some oxidation. You can see that there's refined raspberry/blackberry fruit in there, but it should be tighter, fresher. (AH)

Full ruby-red. Roasted, somewhat reduced aromas of chocolate, game and fresh blood. Medicinal and closed, with a distinctly tannic finish. From a second barrel: Purer aromas of kirsch and bitter chocolate. Juicy and intense, with strong black fruit flavors slightly dried by new oak. Finishes with rather tough tannins. Today this wine boasts excellent intensity but does not yet communicate the sweetness of the vintage.
