Tasting notes
Good dark red. Very ripe but somewhat subdued aromas and flavors of black cherry, licorice and sweet oak. Creamy-sweet and plush in the mouth, with harmonious acidity giving shape to this easygoing, rather generous wine. Finishes with a ripe dusting of tannins and a piquant suggestion of blood orange. Méo described this wine as "typical 2016 for us: creamy, soft and elegant but with depth and texture." This wine should offer early pleasure but it also has the stuffing and balance for mid-term aging.

The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers is bridled with a perfumed bouquet: floral and Vosne-like in style, replete with rose petal and peony scents that merge with maraschino cherries and crushed strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet ripe tannin and touches of orange zest, although it dips a little toward the finish that just needs a little more substance.
