Tasting notes
My favorite of the Fairchild offerings is the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 3, which comes from Oakville's Tench Vineyard (adjacent to Screaming Eagle). This wine has a lovely nose that's just slightly lifted and floral, with licorice-like spice accents to the notes of cassis and crushed stone. Full-bodied, concentrated and powerful, it finishes long and complex, with a lingering, softly dusty feel.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 3 comes from Tench Vineyard and is an inky hued, red, black, and blue-fruited Cabernet with serious amounts of iron, marine-like salinity, and savory herb aromas and flavors. As with all these Fairchild releases, it’s full-bodied, has wonderful balance, and building structure. It’s a serious, powerful 2019 that will benefit from at least 4-5 years of bottle age and drink nicely over the following two decades.
