Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2018-2028, Jancis Robinson MW, Jul 2017

80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Merlot. Aromatics of dried earth and dried grasses continue into the palate alongside dried cocoa, dried tobacco, and dark fruits. This is the most well integrated, savoury, and pleasing of the Three Sticks vintages presented here. Some of that is certainly from bottle age helping to integrate the wine and offer some aged flavours. It also just feels like a more balanced and pleasurable wine. The structure to flavour to alcohol here appear in harmony with each other – not fully integrated with each other but instead playing together in a way that improves each. Nice savoury quality. Tannins feels a bit lighter here than in the other two vintages but it works and is in a good relationship with its acidity. (ECB)
