Very fruity and round. Not much obvious structure. The oak is a little bit obvious. Toasty. Winemaking more obvious than vineyard here. Some alcohol on the finish. (JR)

(mostly vines from the "top strip" of Mazoyeres, plus a bit of true Charmes; 40% new oak): Good bright, deep red. Dark cherry, wild herbs and violet on the nose; smells powerful. Chewy and tactile on the palate but a bit youthfully closed-in, showing imploded black fruit flavors and conveying a classically dry impression. Not the last word in depth or length but this displays very good energy and lift--and more obvious tannins than the Clos de la Roche.
