Score 16/20 · Drink 2017-2020, Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, Dec 2017
Fermented in terracota amphorae, and malolactic fermentation in French oak barriques. Aged for 24 months in new barriques. Same vinification as the 2013, but even if this is from a much lighter vintage, the oak is much better integrated. Easygoing, almost lush fruit but medium bodied only and quite ripe and a little developed on the palate, like the grapes in the vineyard was pushed for ripeness. silky tannins and quite enjoyable, but a little too easygoing to justify its Riserva tag. Ready now. (WS)
