2012 Vérité Le Désir

The 2012 Le Desir has a medium garnet color and woodsy, musky scents of mossy bark, fir needles and desiccated flowers. The palate has firm, velvety tannins, unexpectedly bright currant fruit and a long, tobacco-laced finish. I would be inclined to drink this over the next 5 to 7+ years.

Although the 2012 is quite expressive today, it will be even better with more time. Over the last few years the Désir has clearly emerged as Vérité's top wine. Today, it is absolutely gorgeous, although it needs time to be at its best.
