Score 90/100 · Drink 1997-2014, Robert Parker, Aug 1995
The finest wines Mongeard produced in 1993 are the Richebourg and Grands-Echezeaux. The surest bet is the Grands-Echezeaux. This wine possesses a dark ruby, opaque color, high acidity, but superb concentration, medium body, well-integrated tannin, and a sweet, rich, long finish with plenty of fruit and glycerin to stand up to the wine's strong tannin. This impressive, large-scaled, firmly-styled Burgundy should be cellared for 2-4 years and drunk over the following 10-15. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Chester, VT; tel. (802) 875-2139
