Biodynamic. Exuberant. Deep crimson – deeper than most red burgundies. Big and round. Not much acidity or tannin but MASSES of fruit! Almost rudely fruity! (JR)

The 2015 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Ruchots 1er Cru has a little reduction on the nose, yet underneath lies some lovely ripe red brambly fruit laced with subtle undergrowth aromas. The palate is smooth on the entry, with a fine bead of acidity, and quite linear at the moment. A savory/dried blood tincture appears toward the finish. Good potential. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Meat and two veg on the nose – again pretty late picked and perhaps it could do with a little more freshness. Compote of blackberries. (JR)
