The 2022 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru is more neutral on the nose than its peers, though it is well-defined with Granny Smiths and flinty scents. Early picked? The palate is taut and fresh, with a little creaminess at the entry and moderate depth with a touch of spice at the finish. Fine, it's just missing a bit of personality. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.

Cask sample. Rich and intense – a rather big, beefy Chablis without the precision of some. But it should come into its own with bottle age. (JR)
