Good full red. High-toned aromas of red raspberry and peppery spices. Juicy, spicy and precise, boasting a tight core of purple fruits and minerals and noteworthy inner-mouth tension. This classy village wine finishes with a cool minty nuance.

Due to be racked literally a few minutes before my arrival, the 2013 Chambolle-Musigny Village was more difficult to read, although it has plenty of dark cherry fruit “bubbling away” on the nose. The palate is finely balanced, clean and pure with filigree tannins – understated but with commendable poise if not enormous length.
