Tasting notes
(from a .7 ha parcel that was partially replanted in 1985 and the remainder in 1989). Generous wood fights somewhat with the otherwise attractively spicy aromas of red and black cherry, raspberry and violet scents. The exceptionally rich, suave and opulent big-bodied flavors possess an attractive minerality that adds interest to the highly complex but borderline heavy finish. This seemed almost fatigued which makes me wonder if this particular sample is representative of how the wine will show once it’s in bottle and my predicted range embodies the benefit of the doubt that it will recover.
