The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières from Domaine Latour Giraud, one of the largest landowners in this vineyard, is very attractive, wafting from the glass with notes of crisp green pear, lemon oil, hazelnut, baking spice and wheat toast. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, bright and vibrant, with a bracing line of acidity, good concentration and a penetrating finish. This is a notably tensile, bright 2015 that will need a couple of years in the cellar to come together.

Bright medium yellow. Reticent musky nose hints at citrus fruits, white peach, grilled nuts and butter. Soft, fairly dry, broad and rich; shows more fat than the Charmes but also possesses well-integrated acidity to frame its peach and apricot flavors. In a distinctly dry style, and without quite the early balance of the Charmes. This wine will need some time for its slightly phenolic finish to soften a bit.

Pale. Very citrus and with some sweetness. Not the purest but it’s a solid offer. Chewy end. (JR)

Bright pale yellow. An aroma of peach nectar is enlivened by a brisk gingery quality. Thick, rich and sweet but with superb framing acidity. Quite glyceral and rich--even a touch warm--at 13.8% alcohol but has the harmonious acidity to maintain its shape and balance. A serious mouthful of wine. Latour expects that a fining prior to bottling will bring more precision.
