(bottled in March of 2006, a month ahead of the rest of the '04s) Bright, deep ruby-red. Wild, highly aromatic nose offers black plum, minerals and musky espresso. Then juicy, sappy and fairly lean in the mouth, with lovely spicy lift to the flavors of dark berries, minerals and meat. Firmly structured village wine with a slightly dry finish.

(not yet racked) Saturated ruby-red. Wild crushed cassis along with some leathery, gamey reduction on the nose. Sweet, lush and fine-grained, with highly concentrated flavors of dark berries, leather and meat. Dense but closed. Finishes with fine, granular tannins. An impressive village wine in the making, from tiny grapes affected by millerandage.
