2019 A. Rafanelli Zinfandel Unfiltered

14% Petite Sirah. Harvested 5–26 September at between 25 and 26 Brix. Production: 6,300 cases. pH 3.64, TA 6.2 g/l. Tasted blind. Medium purple in colour. Blackberry, bramble and spice to the nose – like a heavily spiced, savoury fruit jam. The spice is intense on both the nose and the palate – layered with sandalwood and cedar. Fruit is rich and ripe and viscous on the palate. Quite large and warming but without being overblown and with juicy acidity. Fresh on the finish. (SCJ)
