Tasting notes
A more long distance runner, although approachable now, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate exhibits a similar dense plum/purple color in addition to notes of white flowers, black raspberries, black currants, lead pencil shavings and burning embers. Full-bodied and rich with low acidity, sweet tannin and a corpulent, nicely textured, long mouthfeel, it should hit its prime in 2-3 years, and last for 2+ decades. These two offerings are similar in quality, even at age ten. Tel. (707) 945-1220; Fax (707) 944-0744

Bright ruby-red. Enticing, sweet aromas of cassis, cappuccino, chocolate and mint. Suave and silky in the mouth, with sweet, pliant flavors of dark berries and chocolate. Offers lovely texture and persistence, finishing with dusty but ripe tannins. Distinctly user-friendly cabernet with attractive balance.
