Score 17/20 · Drink 2020-2030, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2019

First planted in 1948, first Chardonnay after Prohibition, replanted in 1986 by mass selection from the Wente Vineyard. 8.74 ha (21.6 acres). 42,000 bottles. Crisp and confident on the nose. Really together and a little simpler than the Tapanappa Tiers but very sincere. Good structure. This may well be just a little youthful. But pretty long. (JR)
