Pierre Bertheau is a grower whose Amoureuses is one that I am less familiar with, but given the showing of the 2007 Chambolle Musigny les Amoureuses, perhaps that's something I should change. Tasted blind, it has a beautiful and very pure nose of raspberry coulis, punnets of strawberries on a hot summer's day, rose petals and truffle. The palate is elegant and refined with plenty of depth; the tannins are so fine that the word "Rousseau" was running through my mind before its identity was revealed. There is just that lightness of touch, that elegance that marks out a great Pinot Noir. Cool and effortless, this is well worth checking out if you can locate a bottle.
