Bottle sourced from within the UK. Complex but unshowy nose. Quite a cool plate entry and some real freshness. Lip-smacking tannins. Very powerful towards the end in fact. Sweet liquorice. Charcoal finish. Very vibrant. Lots packed in here. Lovely already! (JR)

Shows super fresh and vivid blue and black berries and a defiantly primary feel to the wine. Plenty of spice and tarry elements, too. Thereâs a lot to like here, barely getting started. Similar to 1990, but a notch or two superior. Thereâs an attractive, crisp-cut edge to the tannins, immense richness and impressive resolve. A great Grange. Drink or hold.
Tasted blind. Very dark crimson. Heady cough-medicine elixir on the nose – this is surely the Grange?! More than a hint of mint and great density but it’s all in the future for now – though the tannins seem less monumental than they did in June. This really is so much more backward than the northern Rhône 2010s tasted in this line-up… (JR)
Very very dark purplish crimson. Massive and big and dense. Masses of tannins. SO young! This is one for the grandchildren. Absolutely classic. (JR)
