Pure but subdued nose hints at citrus blossom and stone fruits. Pure, tight and light on its feet, with brisk citrus fruit and mineral flavors giving this wine a distinctly firm impression. Not a fleshy style but very subtle. This seems already to be shutting down in the bottle.

Surprisingly inexpressive on the nose (both Pierre Morey and Anne-Claude Leflaive were surprised by this sudden turn of events and wondered if it were a ‘root day’ which it wasn’t). Hint of honeysuckle and lots of chewiness with a slightly chalky finish. This appeared to need quite a time to develop. (JR)
