80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Blackish crimson. Quite evolved on the nose and with fine aroma and masses of sweet charm. A little menthol note and still some fine tannins. Dry, long finish. Lots of fun. (JR)

The 2008 Château La Fleur is another relatively mature 2008 that offers medium-bodied notes of black cherries, currants, leafy herbs, and cigar tobacco. With good acidity, a balanced, light texture, and a clean finish, it’s best drunk up over the coming 7-8 years.

Tasted blind. Two bottles, both oxidised. Slightly dull crimson. Strange, waxy perfumes. Something a bit sour about this. Hint of tea leaves and it builds towards the finish. Long. (JR)

Simple black fruit, a touch of menthol. Medium body, very soft tannins and some vegetal notes to finish. Lingering black fruit but not much complexity. (RH)
