Tasting notes
Straight and austere. Well-intentioned, medicinal and serious rather than hedonistic. Pretty dry on the end and not that much fun at the moment. (JR)

Rich ruby with very 1990 dusty rusty rim. So amazingly ripe and powerful. Fully evolved and luscious on the nose.Very sweet and fleshy with just some very fine tannins on the finish. Luscious. Lots of mature fruit with a hint of rather attractive decay – like those waxy anti mosquito preparations..? Very sweet and gorgeous. (JR)
The rich, well-endowed 1990 possesses round, generous, surprisingly concentrated flavors. It will make ideal drinking over the next 10-15 years. The most complete second wine made at this property since their glorious 1982, over one-half of the crop was relegated to this wine. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005.
Draws you into the glass with enticing plum, blackberry, vanilla and coconut aromas and flavors. Full-bodied yet balanced, with an abundance of soft tannins, but not aggressive. Drink after 2000. James Suckling,Wine Spectator 1993.
