Lively crimson and a really rich nose – lovely pure acidity. Great life in here with some animal richness. Sweet, full and opunchy. Very broad – much richer than most red 2004 burgundies. Real body and sweetness. By no means the finest from this stable – a little bit crude and galumphing by DRC standards – but full marks for sheer mass.

(est. 300-$450) Medium red. Rather exotic aromas of liqueur-like red fruits, spices, leather and underbrush. Silky, seductive and a bit decadent in its early sex appeal, but with its lively acids and apparent oak tannins this has a slight dry edge. Firmed up with air and gained in freshness.
