(cream-colored sapsule): Glass-staining ruby. Pungent, deeply pitched dark berry aromas are complicated by allspice, black pepper and candied flowers. Juicy, focused and mineral-driven, offering sweet blackberry and blueberry flavors that put on weight with air. Closes sweet, supple and extremely long, with lingering spiciness and a hint of violet pastille. Shows a light touch and a degree of elegance that's uncommon for this mostly structured, masculine vintage.

Glass-staining ruby. Deeply pitched aromas of black and blue fruits, licorice and cola, with smoky mineral and spice accents adding lift. Rich but lithe on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry and exotic apricot pit flavors and a touch of star anise. Becomes more fragrant with air and finishes with superb clarity and persistence.
