2017 Santa Rita Hills Cuvee Chardonnay

Majority comes from the Wenzlau Vineyard. Organically farmed. In the cellar the wine is a combination of barrel and tank fermentation using native yeast. Winemaker: Justin Willett. Pure, fragrant lemon and grapefruit with the merest hint of oak spice. Lots of freshness and tension even with the fullness in the mouth. There’s a slight friction in the texture which enhances the freshness. Bone dry but full of lightly spiced lemon fruit. Very youthful for a 2017. (JH)
