1999 Urziger Wurzgarten Spatlese

The aroma of this wine unites the Urzig-typical kiwi-strawberry with more Erden-typical notes of sassafras and citrus. Comes onto the palate quite rich and full, like lightly cooked strawberries in a citrus-cream sauce, with brown spice accents. Inevitably, the word stuffing again leaps to mind, but for all of its fruit-filled density, this manages to achieve real grip on the palate, followed by a strawberry chiffon-like delicacy as the finish dies away. Potential 2 stars.
