Tasting notes
Produced from a plot planted in 1947 that's the source for the domaine's sélection massale, the superb 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers Vieilles Vignes wafts from the glass with notes of cherries, raspberries, candied peel, dried flowers, rose petal and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and velvety, with rich structuring tannins, excellent concentration and succulent acids. As usual, it's the domaine's finest wine.

Planted 1947. Tank sample. Mid crimson. Intensely fragrant on the nose, red fruit and the merest hint of pepper. Super-fine dry tannins, perfectly matched to the depth of old-vine fruit. Very long and just a little richer on the palate than the Chambolle Chatelots. (JH)
