Score 93/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Robert Parker, Mar 2016

The 2013 Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa (16.3% as well) is another wine made from Jackass Hill clonal material. These are younger vines, but the wine displays plenty of black cherry liqueur, blackberry, charcoal, barbecue smoke, meat and almost Asian soy and spice. It is a full-bodied, full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal style of Zinfandel to drink over the next decade. Luckily, this is the biggest cuvée of 2013 Zinfandel, checking in 664 cases total.

Score 93/100 · Drink 2015-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2015

One of the more overt, voluptuous Zinfandels in the range, the 2013 Giuseppe & Luisa blossoms in the glass with effortless grace. Dried dark cherries, plums, tobacco, leather and smoke. The flavors are dark, bold and racy, yet the 2013 retains its mid-weight personality and plenty of nuance. Layers of flavor build to the creamy, layered finish.

Martinelli

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
