Tasting notes
The 2014 Pinot Noir West Block again has flowery, floral notes, giving it quite a perfumed personality. Deep ruby/purple, with sweet berry fruit in abundance, a full-bodied mouthfeel and loads of cassis and cherries, this is another big-time winner and a great success, as are all of these Pinot Noirs from Rochioli in 2014.

Most of Tom Rochioli's 2014 Pinots are open and accessible. The West Block is the exception. Inward and tightly wound, the 2014 is going to need a good year or two to start unwind. The flavors are bright, precise and focused. It is only a matter of time before those elements fully come together. Today it is the wine's energy and precision that truly stand out, but there's plenty of depth too.
