Score 95/100 · Drink 2020-2027, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Jul 2020
The 2018 Pinot Noir West Block, from vines planted in 1969, has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and lush cranberry sauce, blackberry pie, underbrush, cured meats and a spicy undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate manages lush, ripe fruits without going over the top. It has a silky texture, is very fresh and finishes long and spicy.

The 2018 Pinot Noir West Block dazzles from start to finish. Sweet dark cherry, black plum, hard candy, lavender, spice and menthol build in the glass effortlessly. Rich and ample in feel, the West Block has tons of Russian River intensity and simply mind-blowing balance. It is an archetype for what these wines can and should be. I loved it.
