2016 Meursault Les Ravelles

Cask sample. Ooh, distinctive phenolic aromas giving orange peel and rich apple fruit on the nose. The winemaker attributes this to the heavy soil. Full and generous on the palate – this is stylish and stylised. There’s a little funkiness, but nothing untoward. Very distinctive and enjoyable. (RH)
