Tasting notes
Crushed red berries, flowers, bark and fresh mushrooms. Complex nose. Medium-bodied with fine and firm tannins that run the length of the wine. Chewy yet polished and fine. Juicy at the end with some crunchiness. Drink or hold.

The 2021 Chianti Classico Ama is outrageously beautiful. Rich and sensual, with tremendous depth, the Ama shows just how important the vintage is. Readers who want to explore the house style will find a gorgeous wine with which to do that. Dark fruit, leather, spice, tobacco and menthol build in a sumptuous layered Chianti Classico that hits all the right notes. Bright acids and vibrant floral accents round out the finish. Superb.
About the producer

Castello di Ama is one of the pre-eminent estates in Chianti Classico. Situated in the southern-most district of the appellation, the estate has only been making wine since the late 1970s but has since built a reputation as one of the region’s best.
