The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet En Cailleret 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with grilled walnut and light smoky scents hovering in the background. The palate has a creamy opening: vanilla, chestnut and touches of white chocolate, but discrete segueing into a delightful, spicy finish. This is drinking beautifully now, even if it needs a few more months to subsume the oak, but it will keep for another decade.

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Cailleret is excellent, unwinding in the glass with aromas of pear, honeycomb, iodine, smoke and wheat toast. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's lively and precise, with promising underlying structuring and a long, chalky finish.
