Aged 12 months in oak of which 30% was new. Pure, juicy, crisp and punchy. Lots of fine tannic dust on the palate and a savoury, slightly bitter finish. Youthful and exuberant. Needs time? (RH)

Light burnt-berry-pie nose. Leafy, tart, fennel seeds, pine needles. Much less persuasive than the Gravières, much more informed and shaped by somewhat tense tannins – as if the responsible older sister with no time for the shenanigans and frivolity of youth. Dryer (than the Gravières) and drying on the finish. Sharp wild red berries. Not as long as the Gravières. (TC)
