Tasting notes
The 2019 Pommard 1er Cru Les Pezerolles opens in the glass with notes of sweet red berries, rose petals, loamy soil and exotic spices. Medium-bodied, bright and lively, with a pretty core of fruit, youthfully chalky tannins and a long, mineral finish, this has a bright future ahead of it.

The 2019 Pommard Les Pézerolles 1er Cru shows a bit of reduction on the nose, but underneath there is darker fruit, blackberry and bilberry, with a faint marine influence. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly honeyed texture, good depth with a little chewiness towards the finish. A burly Pommard.
In the middle of the vineyard – just 0.15 ha on calcareous dolomite. Just one 350-litre cask made. Cask sample. Very sweet palate entry again and good balance. Fruit overwhelms the tannin. Very approachable impression until the little tannic grip on the finish. (JR)
