Tasted from a mini sample bottle. Incredibly smoky, even peaty, a little bourbon-like. Smells of chopped apricots, quince, sumac and saffron. Very sweet (apricot syrup, tinned golden peaches) but also very 'souk' spicy – baharat and sumac. Tangy in an old-fashioned leather-glue and a new-fashioned kombucha way. Dark-roasted pecans, raisins, molasses. Then, on the finish, rose petals and coffee-toffee. Dramatic and powerful. (TC)
