Tasting notes
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has more complexity and personality compared to the Perrières: Clementine and subtle muscat-like scents, focused with nicely integrated oak. The palate is well balanced with a smooth texture, well judged acidity, perhaps just requiring more mineralité to come through on the finish like other vintages.

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Réferts is rich and ripe, delivering aromas of peach, white flowers, toasted nuts, citrus pith and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with a sweet core of fruit, it's another demonstrative wine from Carillon this year.
Tank sample. Mid lemon. Lemon, apple, apple blossom. Starts off extremely light with bright, lively acidity and freshness. Extra weight and fat on the mid palate building on volume to the finish. Slightly the opposite of the Perrières. Length and concentration. (MH)
