FINE+RARE, May 2025

Rowse’s 2023 Beaujolais Blanc is very fresh and vibrant, with a nose of white flowers, lilac and bright citrus, with more opulent, creamy tones too. The palate is well-rounded and velvety, with piercing acidity helping to hold everything together rather nicely. There’s lovely minerality and hints of salinity, with layers of lemon and orange adding juicy energy. Charming and ready to drink, this Chardonnay is a great offering from Guillaume Boillot’s new Beaujolais venture. Just 3,000 bottles produced, it's aged in ex-Boillot barrels for seven to eight months on its fine lees, giving it a Burgundian character. It comes from a three-hectare clay-rich parcel, facing northeast at the foot of the Montgenas hill.
