Tasting notes
Expressive stemmy nose that is at the top limit of herbaceousness – just where I like it! There's crystal-clear red fruit to accompany, as well as earthy spice and violet persistence. The burgundian comparison is absolutely justified here, through sheer quality and stylisation. But the disclaimer is that it is not for enemies of whole-bunch styles. (RH)

The 2021 Pinot Noir Memorious is dark, fleshy and super-expressive, within the context of this generally brighter, leaner vintage. As always, there's quite a bit of stem influence, but those savory notes are beautifully woven into the fruit. Clay rich soils add notable depth, while west-facing exposure conveys energy. That dualism makes for a compelling Pinot endowed with brooding dark fruit and notable textural intensity.
The 2021 Pinot Noir Memorious comes from the smallest parcel at Domaine de la Côte (about three acres), where vines grow on clay soils and are subjected to lots of wind. It has a pale ruby-purple color and scents of wild raspberry and blackberry with nuances of tangerine, dried herbs and lavender. The palate is light-bodied and delicately styled with chalky tannins and energetic acidity, finishing long and perfumed.
