Tasting notes
Contains 8% Viognier. 500 cases made. Dark garnet. Aromas of blackberry pie and peach nectar. Blackberry and black-cherry flavours have a lovely aromatic sweetness, thanks in large part to the dollop of Viognier. Fine, powdery tannins add a little texture, while excellent acidity keeps the whole package juicy. Very well done. (AY)

The 2020 Syrah Roasted Slope (which includes 8% Viognier) brings another level of refinement and class, with beautiful red and black fruits as well as notes of spring flowers, incense, sandalwood, and hints of both black and white pepper. Beautiful on the palate as well, it's medium to full-bodied, has a seamless, layered mouthfeel, wonderful tannins, and a great finish. It might be the finest vintage of this release I've tasted.
The 2020 Roasted Slope is a dense, full-bodied wine that shows the overt side of the year off to great effect. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, chocolate, leather and incense are all dialed up. This is an especially flamboyant vintage for the Roasted Slope. Give this a year or two to soften as it has an aggressive finish.
