Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2025-2031, Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, Aug 2025

Full bottle 1,362 g. 95% Carignan, 5% Bovaleddu. Old vineyards, ungrafted vines in lower Sulci. Alcoholic fermentation and malo in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperature for about 15 days. The wine goes into barriques in early December. 16 months in new, fine-grained French oak barriques, aged in the bottle for 12 months. So perfumed! Peony, lavender, cooking damsons. Knotted and gnarly tannins writhing around sun-hot, sun-sweet fruit. Black olives. Chewing tobacco bitterness. Green-papper and tarragon greenness. Peppery finish. A big wine making a big, ambitious statement. (TC)
