Tasted blind for Mission Blind Tasting series. Pale lemon. Sweet apple and lemon fruit with quite a bit of ripeness and a lightly mushroomy note. 13.5% alcohol and high acidity. Bone dry. Austere. I suppose I believe it’s Alsace for the ripeness and the alcohol but the texture is lean and driving in a way that’s more Grigio-esque. Still, Alsace. Very modern – no roundness here. Added after reveal: alcohol is 13%. (SCJ)
