Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2023-2027, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Jun 2022

Full bottle 1,404 g – unnecessarily heavy. 100% Viosinho on schist soils. Fermented and aged in new 500-litre French oak.  Very pale. Intense aroma that is all creamy lees and spice from the barrels yet with plenty of fragrant-pear fruit. Chewy, mealy texture, fresh and concentrated but not heavy. It is still young but already rather good in its deep flavours and firm texture. Needs a bit more time to become less primary in its flavours and more complex. (JH)
