2020 Riesling Vieilles Vignes

Vines are 70 years old from lieux-dits Muehlforst and Rosacker in Hunawihr and lieu-dit Vorderer-Haguenau in Ribeauvillé. Marl and limestone (muschelkalk). TA 7.21 g/l. Vanilla pod and peach on the nose. Precise, correct, lean and does its daily press-ups. Faint impression of rhubarb and lime jelly. Sorrel-leaf pinch of green and a touch of raw cumin spice on the end. Chewy. Sparse and pared back to the edge of austere. Perhaps leave this one in the cellar for another couple of years. (TC)
