2020 Fleurie

Full bottle 1,300 g. 100% Gamay on pink granitic soils. Aged in stainless steel. Gosh, this smells gorgeous! Peonies and very ripe nectarines. Lots of acidity, giving the almost sumptuous fruit a crystal-cut sharpness. Deep, intense strawberry and raspberry fruit with that peony-like fragrance still breathing through the whole length of the wine despite a penumbra of dark minerality. Dried thyme, wet mica, cumin. And then finishing back on the fruit – ripe apricot. Persistent. Complex. (TC)
