Score 17.5/20 · Jancis Robinson MW

Full bottle a ridiculous 1,702 g. So an empty bottle would weight nearly 1 kg! Pale garnet with a very pale rim. Quite heady and evolved but with drive too. Although there is still some fine tannin perceptible, there is a fine perfume too and very good length. A gentle rather than forceful wine, belying its gung-ho packaging. Really quite long even though no more than medium-bodied. Sweet and fresh. Not for very long ageing though. (JR)
