Drink 2015, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015
Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Latricières Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Chantel Remy has a pretty and candied quality on the nose with just a touch of cola tincturing the red berry fruit. The oak is more pronounced compared to the Chapelle-Chambertin from Rossignol-Trapet and that comes through in the mouth that is very smooth with pastille-like purity. Yet oxidation asphyxiates this wine before your eyes and you are left with just the fleeting memory of a great Latricières. Frustrating!

Smudgy crimson. Dark fruited and a little stemmy. Savoury, fine and dry on the palate. More savoury than scented and still fresh on the finish. (JH)
