Tasting notes
Medium red. Aromas of redcurrant, spices and chocolate miss out on the fruity, floral lift of the Chambolle Cras. Quite plush and full in the mouth, conveying an impression of chocolatey ripeness but not the definition or refinement of the Chambolle wines at this address. Still, this seriously broad wine is considerably richer and more filled in than it was from barrel a year earlier.

Bright, full red. Discreet, very pure aromas of red cherry and raspberry complicated by a subtle earth component. A bit more herbal and stony than the Chambolle Les Cras and less filled in at this stage; this wine was vinified with the same percentage of whole clusters as the Cras but shows more spices and pepper in the early going. Finishes with a serious dusting of tannins and good length, but this is a bit less showy and refined than the Cras.
