The 1979 Chambertin Grand Cru is turbid in the glass. The nose is decayed, earthy and lacking. Like the last bottle I tasted a couple of years ago, there is just a touch of oxidation. The palate is medium-bodied with a sour entry, rather hollow and leafy with an attenuated finish. Tasted at the Rousseau Chambertin vertical at La Vienne.
