Really pure, crystalline Riesling fruit with quite a bit of residual sugar but such fine acidity that it was a truly refreshing accompaniment to an Ottolenghi cauliflower and pomegranate salad. (JR)

The 2019 Maximin Grünhaus Riesling Herrenberg Kabinett is bright and clear on the delicate, precise and flinty, super finessed nose. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a delicate, piquant and sensual Kabinett with a filigreed structure and a long, intense, stimulatingly salty finish. After 2018, this is another great (or even greater) Kabinett from Maximin von Grünhaus, even though it drinks rather like a feinherb Spätlese in the classic, quaffable style. Tasted as a sample in April 2020.
Very enticing lemon-cream, peach and mint bouquet. Succulent, but light-footed and very clean on the palate with plenty of mineral freshness at the long finish. Drink or hold.
AP number 06 20. TA 8.5 g/l, RS 70 g/l. Bristling with history and very lively. Quite a bit of super-clean fruit on the very precise palate. An absolutely classic Mosel Kabinett. Just the job! Purity incarnate. (JR)
